«Ivolga» WIGs are transport vehicles of XXI century
«Ivolga» WIGs is a high speed, year-round and multifunctional vehicle designed for cargo and passenger carriage in coastal areas and on inland water, including ice covered surface, as well as overland in case of no roads or if roads are covered with snow.
WIGs «Ivolga» are designed according to aero dynamical scheme «compound wing» (aircraft designer R. Bartini), which allows to implement unique characteristics of ekranoplans and to use both «ground effect» and «blowing» technology.
The «ground effect»: the aerodynamic lift increases as the aerodynamic resistance decreases when WIG is flying at small altitudes (less than chord wing) as a result of dynamic air cushion formation between the body of the center-section and the surface.
«Blowing» technology involves the formation of air cushion when the air is discharged from the propellers which are located in the fore part.
WIG «Ivolga» according to International Maritime Organization (IMO) Classification belongs to class «B» and has a unique ability to perform several operating modes: flying, gliding, floating, ice and snow slip, as well as getting afloat and exiting from water (slope 1:10). It develops speed up to 220 km/h and shows a high maneuverability. Ekranoplan «Ivolga» can not only fly at the altitude of «ground effect» but also rise for a «jump» over the obstacles for a short time.
WIGs «Ivolga» show increased safety since they go at a small altitude («height of fall» is excluded) and can get around obstacles both sideways and above. As oscillatory motion from the roughness of water and atmospheric disturbances are also excluded so the crew and the passengers of Ekranoplan can feel comfortable during the flight. Ekranoplans «Ivolga» have undergone a series of tests in reservoirs near Moscow, on the rivers of Siberia, Lake Baikal and Lake Ladoga, the Caspian, Baltic and Black Seas.
LLC «TREK» currently performs small-scale mass production of WIG «Ivolga» EK-12, modernize them taking into account customer’s requirements at present. At the same time we are preparing to put out «Ivolga» EK-30 WIGs (33 passenger seats or 3,2 tones) for river-sea navigation and is designing ekranoplans «Ivolga» EK-100 (106 passenger seats or 11,0 tones) (sea navigation) and of ekranoplans «Ivolga» EK-150 (150,0 tones or 1290 passenger seats) (sea navigation).
LLC «TREK» offers the whole range of warranty and maintenance services of the purchased vehicle, and training of the crew of different categories.
WIG «Ivolga» EK-12
WIGs of the this type are proposed for use as a passenger or light cargo (cargo-passenger) ship.
Ekranoplan «Ivolga» EK-I2 is easy to operate. The requirements of the crew training are similar to the training requirements of high-speed powerboats and yachts. The maintenance of WIG and its systems can be managed by the crew.
Working hours on the maintenance are:
- after 200 hours of work — 16 man/hour
- after 1000 hours of work — 32 man/hour
